Flags wave slow in the dying breeze.
As parents hold bundled kids on knees.
Students marching to music written before they were born.
Cotton candy sticks to hands, to morals pieces of corn.
Celebrating the brave who fight without any guarantees

Two dollar stuffed bear won with ease.
Simply relaxing; at peace with families of three.
One parent gone doing an oath sworn.
Flags wave slow.

Red, blue, white and fifty stars are the keys
to patriotic warmth and country loyalty if you please.
Sun drips changing to evening as the horn
blows singling the fire in the sky. Excited eyes no longer worn
look at the exploding colors and want the moment to freeze.
Flags wave slowly
