Title: Push Aside
Fandom: Law & Order
Word Count: 200
It took three days to reach the official count, the last victim a four year old girl having tried to push death away, but ultimately failed. Eleven people gone from eighty-three to five months, most related to each other. Mother, son. Nephew, uncle. Mixed in were the few bonus or accidental bystanders, three of them.
They had been all smiles and taking hundreds of picture; all the typical events of a post-graduation celebration. The Wilken's family hadn't excepted any other sort of crying, but whoever does except it?
The story was nearly old as time, jealous and abusive ex-husband bitter over the lose of his family and being replaced by a so called nicer man finally breaks. They are his and his alone. How dare they celebrate without him! Invite almost the entire family, even those who only saw his son a handful of times. He raised him, he raised all of them! It wasn't fair to be push aside.
And he made them pay. First his ex-wife, her new husband and each child right down the line. He hadn't meant to hit the others, for those only he'd caring the guilt until his dying day.
