Title: Teasing

Prompt: Pound +1

Jack had forgotten how sensitive girls could be. Their overreaction to teasing, disliking their pigtails being pulled, and throwing hissy fits when their toys are taken. Thankfully for the most part Fiona was pretty good, usually it was just the two of them, a stronger bond through their father's passing had been forged. As a small child her most annoying factor was following him around, trying to be just like him. He'd act upset, but in secret would smile at the frantic yelling of his name. When they got older she just got strange and obsessed, not with boys, makeup, and the latest celebrity gossip, but instead with ghosts, ufos, and other paranormal crap.
With Annie it was different. A lot different. While she to talked about three headed creatures and haunted mansions, she did like gossip and popularity. Jack could tell Fiona she looked fat in a certain shirt (only joking) and she'd just yell at him for being and jerk, that was it. But Annie? After the comment started to cry like a child would do.

Prompt: To Everything There Is a Season +2/The Child Inside +2
Word Count: 100

There were seven gifts for Jack. Eight gifts for Fiona. Three shared ones. All the bows were straight, lights on the tree shinning bright and blinking. Soft Christmas carols played on the stereo of words of peace and goodwill.
If any unknowing on looker appeared it was the perfect collection of moments for what everything a holiday season should be. Molly hoped she could fool the kids into that, make the first with their father a pleasant one, or pleasant as possible. It would be a day for forced smiles, giant hugs and slipping away to cry in the bathroom.

He had a way of looking at her with a cold and unfeeling staring that was able to burn her from the core. He'd say nothing as he stepped past her, almost as if she weren't there at all. she had tried to speak to him, grab his attention, no, it never worked. Soon she gave up and stepped past him equally unfeeling.
When others were witnesses he was kind, teasing and seemingly her best friend. Making his mother happy to think he was accepting his substitute sister. While she acted as if contacted like ink on paper at all hours, able to love and support each other. It was a fantastic lie.

"But you promised!" Fiona wailed with her small foot stumping.
"Yes sweetheart I know, things change." Reaching forward Molly attempts to brush her daughter's hair, only to have her jerk away.
"Is not fair mommy! You said we could go on a picnic, I wanna go a picnic!"
"Fi I realize that, but the weather forecast said it's suppose to rain. Eating in the rain? Doesn't sound like much fun to me. Tell you what we can tomorrow, it's going to be sunny tomorrow."
"I don't care. You promised me. It's not fair! Daddy would have kept his promises and take me when he said!" Even at five she knew the words to use that would string the soul. With an annoyed sigh Molly stands from the kitchen table.
"Fine Fiona we'll go. Don't start crying when you catch you're death!"

They stared at each other both their hearts pounding they would break their contact to look at the floor and return to each other. Through the hall window they could hear their parents talking in the garden unaware of the activities a few feet away.
"It's all your fault Clu!" Carey hisses at his younger brother in accusatory tones.
"Is not!"
"I wasn't the one knocked over the lamp now was I?"
"But you tugged on my shirt! You pulled me into the table. So it's your fault!" Clu took a step towards his brother, despite being smaller (and weaker) he often showed no fear.
"Prove it. I bet you can't." He pauses for a moment before adding, "and if you tell mom and dad I'll throw all your match cars in the garbage." Clu steps back, shoulders sagging in defeat.
"Fine. You win."

The bus is nearly dead in silence just the soft roar of the engines singled life. Ned focused on the stretch of highway ahead of him, cars passing by, their headlights bright in the darkness. He had forgotten his mp-3 player on the truck while loading up the gear a few hours prior and the radio never quite picked up stations that well.
Sometimes Irene would stay awake to keep him company, usually just sitting beside him not talking, but just being there was enough. She wasn't even here this evening having felt ill in Charleston the group of them insisted she take it easy for a few days. Almost like pulling teeth for her to agree, in fact it's easier to do a u-turn with nothing falling from the shelves than for her to take it easy.
Other times Carey might join the front of the bus and they would talk, joke around in the way that would a father and son could. Tonight Carey was snoring away on the couch a magazine spread across his chest.
Tonight it was a solo game, their safeties completely in his hands.

Molly found him sitting alone at the kitchen table with three boxes of cereal sitting in front of him and an empty bowl too. She stands in only her robe and embarrassing fluffy blue slippers given as a gift for mother's day at least four Mays ago. Outside the birds were just starting to wake to the rising of the sun that dipped in through the blinds.
"Winter left me." He speaks not turning to her. Not caring the comments and laughter her outfit might cause Molly walks over and gives his shoulder a squeeze. She suspected trouble in their relationship, the traveling for weeks and sometimes months being the main factor.
"I'm sorry Carey. Anything I can I do?" He shakes his head. She reaches around him and picks up on the boxes and starts to pour into the bowl, ready to begin her day.
"I could use a vacation right now. A really vacation, not just to a venue. Some place to forget Winter and her new boyfriend Reed."
"That would be nice. Some place far away, Paris? Sydney?" He holds the spoon up for her which she takes.
"Yeah that would be wonderful."
Title: Study Partner

Prompt: Zeppelin +3
Word Count: 122

It was the first D he had ever received, for history at least. He didn't need the lecture from mom or the disapointing look from Ned, he felt bad enough. He had studied, sort of. Just it was hard with Fi gone, he found himself actually missing her. The way she'd break his concentration, tease him, but more so how they'd help each other study their material for the week. A few pretend pop quizzes from her he would have put 1917 as the year Ferdinand von Zeppelin died and not 1925.
It took losing her for Jack to realize what a good team they actually had made. There was Annie he could ask, but it wont or couldn't be the same.
