I had this teacher in elementary school that I hated. Absolutely hated. She remains synonymous, in my mind, with all the things that really are wrong with the public education system.
I had similar experiences with Mrs. Summers, but thankfully I only had her in math. I had Mrs. Claussen, who hated me even more. I honestly disliked 5th grade more than any other year all through school. I'm sorry to hear yours was worse than mine.
Really? I didn't realize you had gone to Morse, for some reason. In all my years through the district, I only found one other person who actually liked Mrs. Summers, though she loved telling us stories of all the students who kept in touch with her. But if the obituary I found was hers, there aren't any references to her students beyond educator, and no comments from former pupils devastated by her passing. So, yeah.
I definitely think 5th grade was the worst, in terms of the educators. My brother had Mrs. Claussen and he didn't care for her, either, but from what I recall, she hated everyone.
Speaking of Morse, I went to their website a few weeks ago. Mrs. Hittle and Mrs. Larson are both still there. Jeeze, they must both be in their 60's by now.
Yep, I was a Morse Marksman for 4th and 5th grade. It's funny you mention those two because the Nurse's Office and Library are the two places I remember spending the most time!
I was definitely not sad to leave that school behind.
What I remember most about the library, at least with Mrs. Larson's program, where those crazy chairs that were fun to sit in while she read to us. R.E.A.L., I think it was called? I wonder what it actually stood for.
I tried to look up Mrs. Claussen too, just to see whether she was still there. She isn't and I couldn't find her anywhere else. Most of the teachers when we were there were SO OLD. Mrs. Morris I remember being ancient, as well as Mrs. Summers.
