Piercing a baby's ears is right up there with tattooing a dog in things i don't get. Ok I get the want for identification purposes but even then I don't get it at the same time.
Self-inflicted pain should be a choice.
Your sister-in-law doesn't have issues! She has volumes and will probably be in trade paperback x10 soon. It will be longer than the X-men series in all of it's incarnations. And will have terrible sales... but... that's my sarcasm at work.
Vets are... tricky. you want the best for your pet... but you don't want to be ripped off. I have gone through a lot of vets in just the 6 years i've had Mojo. I currently take him to a Vet Teaching Hospital and have been very pleased with the experience.
Your in-laws could be like the extension of the X-Men metaphor i used on your sister in law.
Post Partum Depression seems to be all the rage. I don't doubt that the diagnosis could be accurate. After all, I don't peek at other people's medical records as a hobby! But it does seem like every woman I know has gotten that diagnosis in the last 4 years. Geesh.
I also feel like body modification ought to be a choice. I mean, what favor did my parents do me by having me get them done SO young? I don't know how old I was, because there aren't many baby pictures of me floating around, but I know it was done before I turned three. And for what purpose? So I could continually lose earrings because I wasn't old enough or responsible enough to take care of them? Great.
And yes, my sister-in-law. If only she was coherent enough to write a memoir. No telling what she'd come up with, really. Same with the in-laws.
PPD...who knows. There's a lot of stuff I haven't been telling LJ about.
