Personal Post: All is Quiet...

Life has become fairly routine. Predictable. There's something comforting in that.

Each day, I wake up to Sephie. I nurse her, and then we (plus Little Bit) head upstairs. I change her and then put her in the Pack N Play next to the kitchen while I make myself breakfast and watch the news. I finish, nurse her again, play with her before she inevitably crashes, the put her down for a nap. From there, I either jump into work, or take a shower, or find the courage to just veg out while reading Feminist blogs. I eat lunch, then get Sephie up for another round of nursing. Usually she'll be good and awake so I'll let her work on tummy time or hang out in her swing, while I focus on cleaning the house. Then I'll do more work, nurse her again, put her down for another nap and help Marji make dinner. By the time the guys arrive at five, she's out cold or starting to wake to eat. We'll all eat dinner and then I'll join Marji in the living room to watch "Dancing with the Stars" until we're both ready for bed.

So, is it exciting? Not even a little. But it's nice that with everything else being crazy, we have some kind of stability.

See, B's parents have been thinking about closing one of the offices. They have three in the greater area, and this one is the original. Over the last year, there have been so many administrative changes that that particular office no longer functions the way it used to. The two secretaries there have been with the business for eight and 12 years respectively, and they're just burned out. The result is that they haven't been doing their jobs, and the slack has cost the family a pretty penny or two. What's sad is that B and Max wanted to close the office, but Marji's tenacity paid off. She knew that that location could be saved, and I believe she was right. More than being right, I think she uncovered a way to guarantee the office is back up and running the way it did years ago, generating a decent profit.

The fight over the office has been the most major point of contention between them lately. To give you an idea of how seriously this disagreement had impacted their marriage as of late, when M went to pitch her idea to M this morning, he was certain she would be asking him for a divorce. I'm relieved to report that that obviously wasn't the case, and I saw a thawing of the ice between them today. Thank the Fates, less drama for the rest of us!
