Do I miss LA or the people in it?

It has been brought to my attention that I have not written about my trip back to Ruston yet.  I figured I should at least write some post about it before I forget.

I got into town last Thursday night and got to spend the evening with Hailey, Sarah R, Jason H., and White Zinfandel.  The jug size, not just the bottle.  We went to Log Cabin and then sat around Hailey's house drinking, giggling and watching movies.

On Friday I saw Dr. Stokley and asked him for a recommendation for graduate school which he said he would be happy to write.  I was able to catch up with him for a few minutes but since it was advising week, it was a short visit.  Then I had lunch with Sarah, Jason, and Hailey at Cane's.  We chilled and then had to do our separate things.

Afterwords it was Bobby and I to the casino.  We had fun even though he forgot his hat and I forgot how to relax.  I was doing ok for a while but then I made a stupid mistake and it through off my whole game.   We went to Outback for dinner and then met up with Vanessa at Diamond Jacks.  Bobby seemed to have better luck there, but I was done for the day.  I went back to Ruston and went to sleep.

On Saturday it was back to Shreveport to meet up with Grams, Tammy, Kim, Bobby, and Vanessa.  I didn't get to see Carol and honestly am not sure where she was during all this.  We took some pictures for Carol and then went off to Boomtown.  I watched everyone gamble for a while and then went to play a little bit of blackjack.  I turned my $40 into $85 and left the table to go spend some time with Grams at the slots.  I then had to rush back to Minden to get ready for Sarah W.'s birthday dinner.

Sarah wanted to go to the Outback in Monroe so Sarah, Jason S., myself, and two of their friends headed to Monroe in the rental.  Fun was had by all even though Sarah wasn't feeling too well.  I am really not sure why people are so shocked that I get Jack on the rocks.  Do people not remember the people I was around when I started drinking?  We then went back to her friend Matt's house and I got convinced to play Bass for Rock Band even though I told them how bad I sucked.  I like Rock Band better then Guitar Hero but I think that is because it doesn't make me trip out.

I finally made it back to Hailey's house a little after 2 which wouldn't have been so bad except for the fact I had to leave Ruston by 7:45 to get to Barksdale Air Force Base in Shreveport.  I some how managed to make it there not only on time, but before everyone who was staying in Shreveport.  Seeing the boys come home was probably one of the most emotional events I have ever witnessed.  I didn't get to see Kyle actually hold Ashlynn for the first time but seeing how he held her was just so precious.  When his wife went to go change her, he was wandering around asking where Ashlynn was, it was the most adorable thing ever!  I also got to see my two old roommates (Kelli was my roommate but her fiance, Nick,  pretty much lived with us.) have one of those big movie romantic kisses.  It was so great to see the boys come home especially since that because of my move to MA I didn't get to say goodbye.

After all of that was done I rushed back to Ruston to have lunch with Keith.  We went to to the China Wok, which is my favorite Chinese food place in Ruston.  It was really good to catch up with him because we haven't spoken in quite a few months.  Things seem to be going pretty well with him and he seems a lot happier then the last time we got to have a real conversation.  After he left to go to work I called up Andrea to see if she was back in town and met her and Sara at the Frothy Monkey.  A booth opened up right after we got there so we chilled and hung out for a really long time.  They're moving after Sara graduates so I am really glad that I had a chance to actually spend time with them.

It was after 8:00 when I got back to Hailey's house and we finally got to spend a little bit of time together.  Its a little amusing that the person I was staying with is the person I spent the least time with.  I started to pack/put my stuff together but ended up just passing out in exhaustion.  I woke up really early and finished packing then went to have breakfast with Bobby.  I said good-bye to Bobby and then had to start the long process of saying good-bye to Hailey.

I got to the airport and checked in within seconds of them closing the counter for my flight.  I wish flights were cheaper because I really need to go down there more often.

vacation, ruston, friends
