Fanservice is one of the must-dos when you’re in this industry.
When you’re new to the business, they tell you to start off light. They say a little bit of skinship makes the fans go crazy. Act normal and if you don’t like it, pretend like you do. It’s your job.
For Doojoon and Yoseob, these things come easy. They’re close - so comfortable that the CEO notices and they’re asked to transfer a bit of their intimacy onstage. They smile and agree.
They practice. They come up with routines to make it funny, make it cute and sometimes make it romantic. When the time comes, they show the fans what they’ve got. The reception is above expectation; the fans love it.
Unfortunately, no one’s told them about how feelings easily intrude in this line of work. How they blur the lines and confuse you.
It’s inevitable in a way and Yoseob realizes this when his gaze lingers on Doojoon’s bare back during group showers. Stares long enough to make his cheeks color and thankfully no one notices. He figures it’s his imagination.
Doojoon realizes this when he finds himself making excuses to be near the younger boy. To be near his line of sight, to be the first one Yoseob turns to when he needs comfort. He tells himself it’s because they’re close and Yoseob is comfortable with him.
It’s inevitable in this way and both of them realize it when Doojoon sneaks into Yoseob’s bunk one night and presses a kiss to the blond’s covered shoulder and his hand slips under the comforter, searching. It’s no one’s imagination and neither dare to speak in fear of breaking the bond between them. They stay quiet, letting hands wander and lips lock and it’s so much easier like this.
