Title: For The First Time
Author: Abbey, who goes by tabbyadorer
Rating: PG
Paring:  Gabe/William friendship
Disclaimer:    None of these beautiful boys are mine. I don't own them. Chanukkah is coming up, though.
Summary: This is the first time they're doing this and William isn't sure of the rules.
Author's Note: This is a spin-off, or a precursor to, my Gabe/Brendon fic in which they end up at a diner frequented by Gabe and Bilvy. I decided to expand on that and make fics about all of the times they've eaten there.

William hurried to the diner, hoping Gabe would still be there. His meeting with the label had gone late and he still wasn't sure how thse breakfasts were supposed to work. He walked into the diner, pushing his sunglasses on top of his head, looking around. He spotted Gabe waving to him at a table near the back. They hugged and Gabe looked him over. He was wearing jeans and a light blue v-neck. "Well," Gabe said with a smile, "it's better than the sweaters." William rolled his eyes and they sat down. Just then, the waitress walked by and put menus on their table.
They opened them up and Gabe said, "How was the meeting?"
William shrugged, "Eh, it was fine. We have the tour coming up soon, so most of it was spent talking about that."
Gabe nodded, "I'm going to  crash one of your tours someday."
William snorted, "I would love to see you try. What would the fans think?"
Gabe chuckled, "That I'm there to see my best bud. Besides, we have a song together. It would be a gift for the fans. We can even tear Travie away if we need to."
The waitress came back, "Ready to order, guys?"
William nodded, "I'll have the chocolate chip pancakes please."
"It comes with whipped cream, is that okay?" the waitress asked. William nodded.
Gabe raised an eyebrow, "Bilvy, it's noon. Lunchtime."
"So?" William retorted. "I didn't get a chance to eat breakfast, so I'm making up for it now."
Gabe nodded his head, pleased with this logic. "Then I shall join you in that. I'll have the regular pancakes please. Oh, and extra whipped cream please."
The waitress nodded, writing it all down before walking away.
William shook his head, "Extra whipped cream? Really?"
Gabe waved his hand dismissively at him, "Don't worry, we'll share."
"Is this going to be a regular thing? If so, I don't know how long these diner meetings will last." William retorted, blowing his straw wrapper at Gabe.
Gabe rolled up his wrapper into a ball, "Five years from now, we'll be sitting in this exact same diner in this exact same booth getting the exact same thing." He threw the ball at William, who swatted it away with his hand. "Just you wait."

bandom, time spent in diners, friendship, gabe/william
