Quick Rant

So the other night I was watching TV, and we switched to whatever channel Jeopardy was on, and ET was just finishing up.  You know what their last segment was on?  The clothing sizes of the women of the current campaign.  Yeah that's right.  Their clothing sizes.  What the fuck?  How is that even relevant?  Do we really need to know that Hilary Clinton is a size 10 or that Ms. McCain is like a size 6?  NO!  That's not fucking important.  They also did Barack's wife and Palin.  Shouldn't they be looking at what these candidate/candidate's wives stand for.  What they support, what their stance on certain issues are?  Or hell if they are going to do it for the women, shouldn't they do it for the men as well?  Don't we need to know what size Barack is?  He looks like a skinny enough guy so I'm guessing a 32-34.  And McCain?  Well I'm going to say around a 38.  But those are just my guesses, in this blog, so no one is going to see it or care.  Now instead people have an idea what size the women are, which of course is so important in this day and age, right?

This whole thing just makes my blood boil.  They also talked about how Palin has inspired people to buy glasses that are like hers.  WOW!  That is just like sooo important!  Let's all look at how cool her glasses are and forget the rest of it.  Bullshit.  Fucking Bullshit.  Women in politics are just like the men.  They should be judged based on their stances on issues and what they support/don't support.  Just because they are women doesn't mean that we need to judge them on their size or clothing choices.  This is a POLITICAL race people, not a fucking fashion show.  So start focusing on what is important, and maybe the population will be better informed to make a decision on who to support.

Lastly I think that everyone needs to stop defining all women by their image.  It's not important okay?  Actions are what is important.  Not their clothing size, or how they wear their hair.  None of this matters.  What matters is what a person stands for, and guess what?  Women are people too.  Whether fat, skinny, fashionable, or disaster.  We as a society need to be less aware of material issues and more aware of what is important.  The person.  Not what the person has on.
