So, I've been meaning to read this since you posted the prologue, but I was in the middle of finals and then it slipped my mind. But better late than never, yes? :)

I read all three parts last night and am loving it. I think you've gotten the characterizations down perfectly. You know, perfectly for when random characters weren't being mindwarped or turning evil. ;) I've long suspected that my dislike for Liz has a lot to do with Shiri's inability to act (and possibly with Max's obsessive love for Liz), and reading fics like these just proves my point. I don't mind Liz here. I was amused by the Michael/Maria drama, which is practically unheard of. And I even liked Alex/Isabel, really. There *is* a way to do conventional ships without runing the show, but Roswell never got it.

Oh, and I'm so very impressed with how you're handling all the dangling plots. I'm really liking the tension between Max and Isabel and how you're working towards possibly resolving it (and why the hell can the fic not be Outsidery? ;) I really liked that you brought up the Stalker!Maria issue because that was a huge problem in their relationship for me. I really loved their discussion and then Michael's, "I am not the enemy" line that ended it. Very, very cool with nicely created tension.

And the Tess/Kyle post-prom scene was awesome, and I loved their bonding and it even made me ship a bit. And the referenced to Roswell's obsession with incest? Best thing ever.

I'm also loving the main plot with the possibility of going home. For me, that was always the goal of Roswell. And then the show got away from that and Max didn't care and it was like, "Hey, don't you have a planet to save?"

Oh, and I really loved the interaction between Maria/Liz. Their friendship was one of the things I didn't mind about humans on the show. You know, when they weren't having anti-Tess conversations. I liked that Liz is totally irrational in her jealousy and Maria in her empathy towards Liz.

I'm loving the Max/Tess-ness of this, and I'm really intrigued by Isabel's dreams and the reveal of a possible son. I had considered this briefly after Foursqaure since the dreams included a baby. Can't wait to see where you're going with this.

Also? Please, finish this. I still remember that unfinished Michael/Tess fic. ;)

And, um, sorry for spamming your journal. This kind of got to be really long, but it is for all three parts, so...

Spamming? Please. This is awesome feedback.

Don't worry; I'm not above bringing up the subject again. But Isabel already has enough potential final love interests for me to worry about considering Max as the one. Vilandra is a ho, don't you know?

And the Tess/Kyle post-prom scene was awesome, and I loved their bonding and it even made me ship a bit.
You think? I tried to make that scene as brother-sisterly as I could in order to downplay the possibility. I liked the Tess/Kyle dynamic on the show, but I wouldn't want it to turn into anything else.

I liked that Liz is totally irrational in her jealousy and Maria in her empathy towards Liz.
I realized lately (lately? I don't know; sometime in between when I stopped watching and now) that I actually dislike Maria's character more than Liz's. I didn't notice while the show was on, because Liz was annoying to watch while Maria was charismatic and funny, but as a [fictional] human being, I think Liz was more redeeming than Maria. Or at least less shallow and judgmental.

Also? Please, finish this. I still remember that unfinished Michael/Tess fic. ;)
Don't worry, I'm working on it and not planning on abandoning the fic. I actually had picked up chapter three again a day or so before you left this feedback. But anyway, I think I did finish that Michael/Tess fic in the end; I just never typed it up...or something like that. Anyway, I reread that fic a while ago, and it was embarrassingly crappy. :-/ Especially the characterization.

Vilandra is kind of whorey, no? Heh. DBJ got it right when he said that Isabel had a Virgin/Whore complex. She has all these potential love interests, but never goes for any. Or, you know, she could just be gay?

The fun thing about Kyle/Tess was that their dynamic was perfect the way it was. It made me want to ship in a way that I still didn't want them together (if that makes any sense?). They really should've left it as that and not ruined it with the sister thing. On the other hand, if Tess had hooked up with Kyle, she never would've turned evil. Tess is so the symbolic sacrificial victim where all the mistakes of the past (ie: Katims' mistakes) are blamed on her and then she's exiled to purify the land (or in this case: restore the purity of Max/Liz because if she were around people would remember that Max totally picked someone else over Liz).

And I agree on Maria being more annoying. I've started rewatching the show for the first time since Departure, and she gets on my nerves way more than Liz. Liz can be petty, stupid, but she does have redeeming qualities. For instance, she actually has the decency to walk away after Destiny (and Max is the one who is all psycho-stalker.) But Maria...she's just horribly annoying, self-centered, and completely lacks sympathy for any of the alien issues. Like when Max is trying to get her advice on what to do about Nasedo''s killer, all she can do is talk about Tess being a tramp. I think that scene kind of cemeted my extreme hating of Maria...and from then on, she's done nothing to prove that she's any better than she comes off in that scene.

Anyway, I reread that fic a while ago, and it was embarrassingly crappy.

Heh. I came across some of my own Roswell fic from the early days of the show? And if I could go back in time, I would never post them. I would write them, yeah...because practice for better fics later on. But I should've never let anyone see them. ;)
