This seems like a fitting take on what Castiel must have gone through. It's such a hugely unexplored aspect of the season, treated more like an aside in the canon.

Oooooh, wow...that was incredible! It was a little like being in that stream ourselves, and coming to the surface. what a great way of getting into Castiel's head. The scene in the church was beautiful, the description of the church, his feelings--the cold emptiness of the building without congregation.

Poor Castiel. I've always felt sorry for him, even when I was disappointed with him. He had so many expectations crushed. He's like Sam and Dean mushed into a single being.

Thank you so much! Daphne really did get short shrift on the show, but I guess that's to be expected, since poor Castiel had to become an angel again, so to speak, to fix Sam.
