Bits and bobs......
Hello, hello.
Just wanted to post a couple of things that made me grin just lately. Firstly, the lovely cedarcliffe made me the most *awesome* illustration for my 'Song of the Treadmill' fic.
Just - utterly gorgeous. I'll link, because it's big and also because if you like it you should definitely leave a comment.
Dean facing the demon. I am over the moon with this delightful art.
Also, I was struck my sudden inspiration over at ignipes journal. A picture of an adorable monkey was posted, comments were made about superheroes and...i wrote a comment ficlet.
"What is that?" Coulson said with, he thought, admirable restraint and Steve recoiled, a hurt look on his face. The animal clinging to his neck recoiled, too.
"It's -"
"It's Rhinopithecus brelichi, or the 'grey, snub-nosed monkey'. In China they're called the Guizhou golden haired or grey haired monkey. They primarily live in the Fanjing -"
"It's Tony," Steve said, shooting a look at Bruce, who stared for a second and then closed his mouth with a little snap.
Coulson resisted the urge to drive his head down onto his desk. "How is that Tony? Why is that Tony? Do I really want to know?"
"It was Loki," Bruce said, and Coulson manfully resisted another urge, this one to roll his eyes.
"Of course it was," he muttered. His door slammed open and the monkey - Tony - made a little whimpering noise and dug it's little paws into Steve's hair. Steve shushed it and stroked it's - his, good God - back.
"Do you think he'll eat? I brought grapes and an orange and an apple and - oh, there was a kiwi, and one of those weird star fruits." Clint was juggling way too much fruit in his hands, as well as a knife and a bowl. He had a bottle of water tucked under his chin.
"You ate before you left -" Coulson said, but was completely ignored. The kiwi and star fruit thumped down on his quarterly action report.
"Did you get water? Don't let him drink anything but water." Natasha trotted through the door, two water bottles in hand, trailed by Darcy who had a stack of folders in her arms and her phone held up and ready.
"Where is he? Is that him? Oh my god, he's adorable!" Darcy's voice went up and the monkey - Tony - appeared to be trying to climb Steve's head and Steve turned on the crowd with a scowl.
"You're scaring him," he stage-whispered, and Darcy squeaked and ducked her head.
"Sorry, I'm sorry, I'll be quiet, oh my god, he's so cute, oh my god."
"Their diet consists mainly of tree needles, bamboo buds, fruits and leaves," Bruce said, and the Clint's knife came down on the apple with a little snap. Juice spattered.
"Bet he'd like an apple slice."
"Why does this have to happen on my desk?" Coulson muttered, plucking tissues from a box and blotting the file marked 'Top Secret' that now had orange pips on it.
"Can I hold him?" Natasha whispered, and Steve seemed to snuggle the tiny monkey closer. The long, fluffy tail wrapped around his wrist.
"Maybe not just now."
"What in the hell is going on?" Fury snarled, four-square in the doorway, and Coulson snatched up his phone and strode toward him. "I'll explain in the elevator. I need a drink."
I'm also linking the actual comment, because we did some speculation on monkey!Tony and post-monkey!Tony and it was *fun* and some of you might enjoy.
Yes, I am waiting with giddy impatience for the 'Avengers' movie to come out. Yes, I am actually buying midnight showing tickets, as everyone in the family is on board with that plan. Eeeeee! Never did a midnight showing before!
And yes, I have a bit of personal pride in the fact that I linked darkhavens to some Avengers Steve/Tony fic and now she's *hooked*!! Hooked!

Anyway, that's all the news that's fit to print from my corner of the world. Spring was here for about....a week? And now Summer seems to be advancing like a damn tidal wave - supposed to be in the nineties this week! I really cannot stand that. Had to get the *lawn mowed* this week. It's MARCH! Well, it was March. Now it's April. But still.
Speaking of - April 1st - happy birthday to my brother!
