And Burn the Long-liv'd Phoenix in her Blood - spn_summergen fic!

At long last, the master list post is up, and so we may now take responsibility for our stories! Yay! And I now know that my own fic was written for me by mikiya2200 - Too Little, Too Late. Thank you again! :)

The prompt I choose (of three) was this: Mary never died, but she couldn't run from hunting forever (bonus if everyone in the family survives in ( Read more... )

Oh man! So Mary lives, and it doesn't really change anything all that much--except for Dean, hunh? And still, he's all about family, just--looks like maybe a healthier way than before.(Fireman Dean. I freaking love Fireman!Dean) And Mary! She's a character I love and hate at once and I think you did a wonderful job on her. you really brought her character to life. And last but not least, you made Sam's pain so vivid, so clear and cutting. *sniff* You're so very good at that, you know. Breaking hearts. Loved this so much, my dear!

Dude. Who *doesn't* love fireman!Dean?
*twirls you*

I think now, in retrospect, i could have totally gone a different way with their history, but i think too many things were inevitable. Just because Mary lives doesn't mean that the YED is going to stop, or change his goals, you know? And even knowing he's a demon, they don't know what he's doing, or why.
*bounce*

I'm so glad you like her - she's hard to reconcile, isn't she? She *knew*, and yet did not protect...i get it and it sucks, too.

Thank you thank you, bay-bee.

I agree--it's destiny. Small parts of the story might change but the myth overall never changes.

Oh I liked this! I liked the whole idea of they're who they're meant to be mother or no mother.

Niiiiiice.

Thank you so much! I think, like i said in the comment above, that the YED wouldn't change his actions just 'cause she lived, so...yeah.

Sam looked up, and the expression on his face was one Dean had seen a hundred times before. Stubbornness - determination. But under that, and over it, like a grey and haggard ghost - grief. It hurt, to see that look on Sam's face. It hurt more than Dean had ever imagined anything could, and he made a small and private vow in that moment. Vowed that Sam would never have that look on his face again. Ever.

Dean will never change; he'll always want to take care of Sam, stop him hurting. *smishes them both together*
