Wisps. Love. Magic. FAMILY♥ Pt.2morrowfestDecember 15 2010, 11:53:49 UTC
"Well, Cara, we don't have time to concern ourselves further with that, currently. We must not hesitate." [Little Cara nods solemnly.] "The Night Wisp needs help - immediately. And we are going to have to find another way to save its life. [Vehemently nods again.] You know this Wisp was going to become Mistress Tabrett's little companion, don't you?"
[Little Cara nods up & down repeatedly, eyes large as saucers, now.]
"-And that Wisps are healers. They travel far and wide throughout the land, bringing comfort and relief to dear spirits in need of it."
*nodnod*
"You like Mistress Tabrett very much, don't you Cara?"
[Cara squirms. Looks this way & that. Lowers eyes to the floor.] "...Yes...Mistress Morrowfest..." [She leans in closer; very close. Cups tiny hand to my ear, and whispers conspiratorially]: "Mistress Tabrett is my very favorite out of all the Sisters."
"Alright then." [Pulling away.] "Here is what I'll need you to do. Go upstairs to the tower and tell Wizard Laurrhyf to begin his preparations for a Wisp Fortifying potion. Tell him he'll have to make it strong - this Wisp is to do very good things by Mistress Tabrett's side - and the more we can ensure its endurance, the more good it will do, and people it will heal. And that would make Mistress Tabrett very happy. And you love Mistress Tabrett very much, right?-and would love to see her that happy?"
[Little Cara clears her throat, stiffens her tiny back.] "Mord'Sith do not love..."
"-And you are not a Mord'Sith yet-" *fixes stern gaze on Cara*
"...B-but, yes, Mistress Morrowfest, I...would very much like to please Mistress Tabrett. VERY much."
*fiercely resists huggles on Mord'Sith premie* *grips agiel* *fights back smile*
*nods approvingly*
"Alright then. You know what to do; be on your way. Hurry. And come back here once you have fulfilled your duties in the tower."
"Mistress Morrowfest, what are you going to do with the Wisp while I am up there?" [She eyes the Wisp worriedly.]
"Never you mind what is my concern. I will keep the Wisp from dying - that much I can do. But not forever. It needs strength. It has a very important purpose to fulfill." [Cara nods seriously.] "I will be finding help to gather the necessary ingredients required for the Wizard's potion. The Wizard has everything needed up in his keep but for a few scattered ingredients which may be found here about the Temple - which I will gather him - and one ingredient which may not, and which I will need help to acquire."
[Cara's little brows perch high on her forehead, eyes big.]
*tiny awed voice* "What is it?"
"It is the pulped multi-hued fiber of a very rare and very magical tree; and I'm afraid it only grows in a magical land, separated by a Boundary unlike you've ever known. It is going to take all of the combined strength of our Sisters to cross it, to enlist others' help in harvesting and gathering it, and to return to the Temple still in enough time to strengthen the Wisp before the Wizard's window for action has run out."
[Small eyebrows furrow.]
[hesitantly]: "Mistress Morrowfest?"
"Yes Cara?"
"I hope you and the Sisters find MORE than you need, and fast--and close by." *gulps* "-So the Wisp grows big and strong. 'Cos if we can, Mistress Tabrett will be very, very happy."
*eyes water* *swallows hard*
"I think so too." [Tight lips press, hold down a smile for the little girl--returning her gaze, eyes loving]: "And proud."
[Little Cara beams; whirls off, and tromps up the spiral stone staircase, noisily.]
