Captain Swing, I haven't yet formally sent out invitations, but I was wondering if you would like to come to a dinner party? I'll be cooking up something...haven't decided what.
You are certainly one of my favorite conversation partners of late, and I would like to have one of our usual back and forth discussions over dinner.

I'll be hosting a dinner party, and your attendance, especially if we've spoken at some length or I've promised to cook for you, is requested (especially yours, Dr. Jones).
If you wish to attend, please let me know. I will try to accommodate anyone with allergies or who arrives sans having RSVP'ed.
