Cantwell Cliffs

The erosion caused by Buck Run accounts for the deep valley, steep cliffs and rock shelter under the cliff. Approaching the rock shelter, the trail winds its way through narrow passageways caused by large slump blocks that have fallen away from the main cliff. The most narrow passage has been sarcastically named Fat Woman’s Squeeze.

I love the awesome root systems the trees in this area have formed in and around the rock formations.

Bullitt does not like Chris being way up on the cliffs where he can't go.

The stairs down to the caves... is it me or is this seriously reminiscent of Moria?

Bullitt desperately wanted to climb the rocks but alas it requires hands.

Chris is that little black dot over there on the other side waving. It gives you an idea of how enormous these caves are.

I have no idea what they are looking at but it must be interesting.

The true paleolithic companion to man.
