A wonderful day... make that weekend

Yesterday.. Diane and Taren's wedding. Beautiful ceremony and got to see a whole lot of you that I've been wanting to see for a long time. Why don't we stay in touch more? Of course there was shenanigans but what do you expect? It really was great.

Today.. my day started by trying whole chicken feet. I've had them as soup stock but never whole. Sushi brunch made it possible. However I think Andrew Zimmerman has it right.. they would be better crispy and deep fried. They taste a bit like nothing.. gelatinous and sort of squishy. I think crispy on the outside would definitely improve them.

Now I'm canning. One gallon jar of gherkins done.. one jar dill slices done and a can of beets.. now it is on to dicing up hot peppers for relish. Canning shall continue tomorrow with the relish and some creamed corn. Then dill pickles and apple sauce later this week. I'm on a spree I tell you!!!
