Today's photos

So I am trying to get back into taking photos a couple times a week. Here are the ones from this morning. There are some awesome ones today.

Some sort of bee mimicking fly on Cilantro flowers. God I really need a good insect indentification book. **Sigh**

Same fly again cleaning its proboscis.

Fire Ants. Ants are really hard to take pictures of because they won't stay still. It is so hard to get a picture where they aren't blurred.

Two of some sort of caterpillar on our roses. Here we are back to that identification book.

The fly on the Cilantro again. It's very interesting to see that this fly was pollinating the flowers.

Hide and Seek Mantis

Lightning bug. I never realized their eyes were under that shield. They look a little like they have construction hats on and goggles.

Praying Mantis

This was the first picture of the Mantis. I was really trying to get the wolf spider with the egg sac below it. When I got it in the house I noticed the mantis in the picture and ran out to find it. He was still there pretending to be the vein of the same leaf.

Mantis again.

Mantis climbing to get away from the crazy silver box (ie the camera).

Onion flowers

Johann Strauss Rose

A very cool looking silver fly.

Sow Bug... Pill bug... rolly poly.. whatever you want to call them.

Wild Strawberry blossom. I love this image.

Wasp pollinating coral bells.

Some yellow and black striped beetle. GAH I need a book! A good one that has everything in it.
