Though I think PETA is full of it. (And I refrain from ranting here at the moment. Let's just leave it as a disagreement about ethics, freedom and protocol) There are times when their ads really hit me the right way. Now that doesn't mean I condone the way they carry out their messages or the extremes to which they take them but some of the issues I do think need to be addressed. Mind you in a civilized and intelligent way.

Why am I talking this? I bumped into a PETA ad online today that did just what I was talking about. It really hit me for something I believe in. I don't wear mass manufactured furs, by choice and there are reasons. This is one of them.

Not the dead animal exactly. It is more the factory farmed fur industry. It's just as bad as any other factory farmed animal industry be they food or otherwise.

Edit after comment by Lex: I should point out that the reason this hits me as it does is my view of a very unhealthy trend in thinking. That is the disassociation of product and the animal that it comes from. I think that lack of connection leads to a decrease in respect for life. That respect of an animal giving its life for my comfort/food etc. is very important to me. I've always been saddened by the gulf forming between life and what we consume.
