Every morning I go out to fill the bird feeders, check the suet and play with Bullitt a little bit before I head off to class. It is my little piece of relaxation before I go and cram my brain. The past 4 days I've been greeted as soon as I get out into the yard by a Chickadee. I can tell it is the same one because it has this weird reddishness to it's chest. (I still need to check and see if it is a Carolina instead of Black-capped.) The bird comes down and sings to me, dancing around in the branches. It will sit right next to me in the tree and sing while I fill the feeders. This little Chickadee flies around following me from the porch to the feeder, back to the porch and out to the other feeder. I've never heard such a loud sound come from something so tiny.
The little bird goes to eat and if I'm still out there when its done it comes back and does this funny dance in the tree. It hangs upside down and jumps around. Cute as hell if you ask me.
