Is it Spring yet?

Jan 14, 2007 12:17

The seeds have just arrived and now the impatience starts. It isn’t until the spring seeds arrive waiting to be planted that I find myself getting restless for summer. Sure, all winter I say I want it warmer but that is more for the discomfort the cold causes. Now it is a gut need like the drive to eat or sleep that seems to come directly from the middle of my soul. Cabin fever has officailly set in.

One thing I have decided to do is record the seeds I plant and then at the end of the season comment on them so I have a running record of what produces and what does not. Feel free to skip the cut if you don’t want to read a huge list of seeds.

In addition, to all of that I have milkweed seeds I have collected. If any of you are interested in Rose of Sharon (the white and red variety) or Milkweed (Swamp or Common) Let me know and I have no problem planting some in a pot.

I know it sounds like a lot of work, starting the plants, tilling and allt he rest but I’m ready to get to work. Hey, with the weather we’re having I could probably start now. After all, the left over brussel sprouts from last year have made it and our butterfly bush still has its leaves. (What crazy weather!)
