life is so different now

that first round of intense dieting and working out? well, it didn't work out. i went to a friend's wedding (april 2012) fatter than ever. there was an intense, awful, terrible fight with my dad over my weight. the bf was actually very supportive afterwards, which was nice. he's the right person for someone, just not the right person for me (we broke up FOR GOOD in july 2012).

anyways, between may and december i lost about 35 pounds, and for the first time in my adult life, i'm actually starting to think that the height/weight charts aren't really off. i'm only about 7 pounds away from being able to join the military... lol.

the weird thing is that i really haven't been working that hard at it. no logging what i eat, no super intense workouts... although i'd like to start lifting weights again, that would be fun. i think my unhappiness was driving my weight. and i'm a long way from being happy, but at least i'm no longer forcing myself to stay in an unhealthy relationship.

the past few months have brought about a LOT of change for me- besides the new clothes(!), i live in a different part of boston now, i had to find a FT job and new apartment, and worst of all, i'm not singing or performing. i'm dancing a LOT, but i'm not singing. and that's bad. well, i have a new church job that i really like, but i'm not doing any solo or small ensemble work. and i'm not practicing.

i was about to suggest an accountability practice log here at lj, but having proven that logging food doesn't work for me, i doubt the logging practice would. perhaps i will make a sticker chart, though. and set some really easy goals, like singing 15 minutes a day. a friend suggested the new game superbetter, which i've been procrastinating looking at online. maybe today i'll look at it.

OK. enough for now, it's too sunny out to be inside any longer. i'm going to check the distance on my usual route around the pond close to my house- i wonder how far i've been running these days.

i hope everyone out there is enjoying a good start to the year!
