Life and stuff that should be said...cus I have the time...!!
Well its back to the old India standards of emailing I’m afraid to say…I have only an hour a week roughly to get online now and so am writing my letters out at home on my old laptop and then throwing them onto the computers in the library here as soon as I get in…sigh…I hate the expense of technology…and I also miss my internet café job as well where I could go online for free for as long as I liked…and get paid for it…!!
I was invited down to the premiere of the second Hellboy film but I cannot go as my boyfriend Terry doesn’t get time off until a week or two after the big show…it’s a shame but it seems like all the cool people except Spyda (Maurice) and Gdeo (Gary) weren’t going to be there and I think the vibe will be different this time around…am still disappointed though as I had such a fabulous time when Chris and I went in 04…was looking forward to a chance to head up home even if just for a day or two but looks like that will probably have to wait until Xmas…
Saying that my new job at Lush is going really well…apparently the 2 new trainee managers were told that I was to be trained as well in the hopes of taking over another store…we’ll see if that happens but needless to say I am just happy to get more responsibility and to have something extra to pad the resume with…!! The folks I work with are all much younger then me but most are pretty cool and I have a good laugh through the day…the 2 new trainees are doing as well as is to be expected although they are very different and there is some fear that they will not get along very well in the end…one is 22 and was an assistant manager at Subway…the other is 28 and was the assistant manager at Ann Summers (which is basically a high end porn store) but both had more “experience then me” and so they were hired…in fact one girl at our store was told that was the only reason I wasn’t hired…cus they felt I had a superb interview and could easily handle the job but the last girl they took on without training basically screwed them over and so I was passed for the other 2 girls…sigh…again…
I have more soap now then Heinz has beans…email me if anyone wants anything…I’m happy to share…!! 50% off goes a long way I must say…
Terry and I are finally proud owners of his new/old house…the mortgage is high and we are hoping to switch across to something cheaper in the future but we are doing well for money as I am finally working myself and making more money then I had anticipated…
Things are going pretty well between the two of us as all the stress of the house is finally sorted and now its just forward into the future…I was down in Strabane where Terry grew up to attend his sister’s birthday party…what a hoot that was…! We hit the local Chinese for dinner and met Terry’s oldest sister Maureen…I only have to meet Brendan now and I will have met all 11 of Terry’s siblings…!! Its kinda crazy with his having so many family members as I have so few but its great at parties…a nephew of his was having a 21st birthday and there must have been 50 people in his house…48 of them were related to Terry…lol…
But after the Chinese we headed off to the dog track…which I had never done before and I have to say I had a blast…Terry and I won about $100 and were the big winners for the night which pissed Terry’s sister Claire off to no end seeing as it was her birthday…!! It was wild cus its like a little stadium with wee little dogs running after a wee little rabit and all these big burly guys are freakin out and yelling and screaming…hehehe…it was fantastic and slightly weird all at the same time…but we did well and that was all that mattered as far as Terry and I were concerned…we’re thinking of heading out to the track here and having a night out…
Enjoyed a day out today as the weather is finally beautiful and I just can’t sit in the house any longer…we were on the bus to a little SCA practice when Terry surprised me with a gift for our 6 month anniversary…he had signed me up for a creative writing course which starts in June…!! I was considering entering a writing contest here that takes place in June and even have the title and outline of my story sorted…its called “The Devil Rides the DART On Fridays”…the DART being like the Skytrain or like a subway system…top prize is $4000 or 2000 pounds…but we’ll see how I get on…I really should be writing more as that’s what I came to do but I got distracted with trying to get work and now that that is sorted I have no excuse…and to be honest I am actually quite excited about the whole thing…!!
The SCA here is quite small…there were only maybe 8 people at the SCA practice today and that’s about everyone in this little area of Northern Ireland…unfortunately the re-enactment groups here actually pay people money to get involved so they stay away from the SCA…its too bad cus the folks were great and Terry had a great time with the archery shoot we did…looks like we’ll be getting into it a bit with some things like calligraphy and archery…yay for meeting new people…!! There was a bit of drama though as a small bush fire was started out the back of the boy scout camp we were at and the fire brigade had to be called…but who minds firemen on a beautiful sunny day in their T-shirts and waterproof pants…???
My hair is getting outrageously long…gonna take some photos and see if I can’t get some pics up on Facebook…I finally look like an adult although I still act like a teenager so it all evens out in the end…I am looking more and more like my mother every day…thank God she’s hot for an old lady…luv ya Mom…!!
On the flip side I have lost almost 10 lbs in 3 weeks on the Slim Fast diet…woot for me…!! Gonna carry on with it for the next few months and then switch off to just eating healthier portion sizes and all…would like to lose another 20 lbs but they may be asking too much…am starting to work out at the gym across the street as well as walking 30 mins to work and 30 mins home every night…apparently I am now some kind of walking guru as no one seems to be able to keep up…must be Terry’s short little legs… =D
So I guess all in all I am doing well and enjoying myself…I miss everyone dearly and have trouble some days being here alone…so many new things going on and no one I love to share them with…I would hope that if anyone had the time and the money they would come across the ocean and see us cus we have a place for folks to crash and a beautiful land to show off…!! I’ll try to email as much as I can but my time online is short and I have a hard time personalizing emails for everyone…will do my best to email back those who email me letters cus I just love getting news from the other side of the pond and lets face it, you guys deserve my freakin’ attention…!!
