I almost had a fucking heart attack two days ago. Noah was running around the study while I was messing about on the computer, and he started to crawl on top of this other chair, this wooden thing that's got wheels on it. One time Pepper and I were at the market and while I was paying she wandered up to one of those vending machines with the plastic chicken eggs inside and she started shaking it like she wanted something and it fell on top of her. I know that sounds insane, but it's true. Obviously, she wasn't exactly calm about it, but she only got a few bruises out of the ordeal. Vending machines intimidate us now.

When I was younger, they had cigarette vending machines. I was with a group of mates and was desperate to prove I was hard, so I put my money in and pulled on the knob with a flourish. The sodding thing broke off in my hand and I ended up falling on my arse. Twisted my wrist so bad I couldn't move it for two days. I think the fuckers are out to do us in, myself.

I remember when they used to have those cigarette machines everywhere. I guess it finally occurred to them that kids would be buying from them.
