Is it happening to me or you?

I've been crying a bit more than usual lately. I suppose that might seem a strange way to start off an entry; I should state right away that there's nothing wrong with me. I'm not depressed, nothing horrible has happened; I can't imagine being more contented, really. But for some reason, my emotions seem closer to the surface than even usual. The ( Read more... )

Christ, Thom, I always figured there was a medical explanation for your melancholic condition. It's simple as a small injection that goes straight to the endocrine gland. You'll be into it, mate, it is an archaic method. Right up your alley, along with every woman between the age of 45 and 50.

Well, isn't that a coincidence, Ewan, as I believe there's a fairly traditional cure for your condition as well. It's a simple procedure; you'll be up and around in a few days, and you'll still be able to lead a healthy, active lifestyle. And best of all, there'll be no more embarrassing furniture-humping incidents in front of company.

Oh, don't mind Ewan. He's raised furniture perversion to a new art form. Do not mock until you've seen how many ticket sales we've collected in a mere week of printing his business cards.

You must be on the constant edge of hunger, Thom. You always write about food.

I think I'll wait until they show the arrest footage on Channel Four.

I like food. It's a brilliant thing to talk about. Plus it's something everyone can enjoy discussing.

Are you kidding? Channel Four would pay generously for some of this footage. We'd save the BBC almost single-handedly, but we all know it's really double-fistedly. Or something like that.

Hmmm...food is definitely something that people enjoy, but not only for discussing.

The sad thing is that with the current state of the BBC, you might be right.

True. Cooking and eating it are also excellent ways to occupy time.

Of course I'm right. I'm nearly always right.

Oh Thom. You're no fun.

Oh, well, you just haven't cooked up a nice vegetable soup yourself. With some fresh carrots, and add the right amount of onion? Now that's what I call a rousing time.

I think, at this point, I'll join you in the weeping. Thom, you're almost a hopeless case.

He's been spreading rumours about us, Jon. Seems to think he can persuade you to have it in for me as well. If I ever catch you running toward me with scissors you can bet I'll think twice about letting you play on the table again.

I'd let you perform the operation, Thom, but I'd be too afraid that your tears would get in the way of a successful surgery.

Noo, don't let Thom perform that particular surgery. Look, no need to go to extremes. I've put the scissors away and I promise not to retrieve them. Truce? This time, I won't run so fast.

Well, I have an idea or two, if you're willing to partake, Jonny. Running certainly will not be an option. I'd ask Thom to watch, but we all know how that would roll over. We need to make a list of mbp divas.

I'm always willing to partake if you lead the way, Ewan. You should know that by now. No need for a safety word, even. I think you're able to read me by now, don't you think?

You both realise you're proving my point for me as you speak.
