Goodness, only a few seconds to post -- I've been working a lot of overtime again, trying to wrap up everything at work before I go on leave this Thursday.
But the news of the day is:
We have moving inside 3-turns on both sides! They rather abruptly started solidifying on Saturday.
We have passed Delta! (Patch scan to come.)
We are now in Freestyle 1! (Basic 7, in USFSA-speak.)
We have a very relieved skater.
We have a very pleased coach.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This was my last lesson of the year. After my Delta test, we worked on MIF ... the Waltz 8, perimeter crossover stroking (that's for you, GSB), and forward and backward XOs in the form of a figure 8. I'd never done the backward pattern -- it was pretty neat. We've also been working on combination moves for the last few weeks, like the one in Basic 8: FI mohawk, cross behind, two BXOs, step out to a FI edge.
Our major goals for the first half of 2007, after I've recovered, will be the waltz jump and the Pre-Bronze tests. I also want to try out for the adult synchro team. I feel like a kid, I want to do everything now; it's hard to think about taking at least six weeks off. Hoping that it goes by fast...!
