*LOL* I totally do this too! (See a shirt in a store and decide to try to make it... but usually I forget. ;p ) Looks like it turned out nicely! To keep the back from sagging: what I've found is that if the material is only a little stretchy you need to cut the back piece at least a few inches 'narrower' around the bust and especially the natural waist ('narrower' compared to the front piece); it'll help it conform to the shape of your body more naturally when it's on, and eliminates the extra fabric which puckers.

When in doubt, turn inside out, put it on, pin, remove, and re-sew!

ok. thank you. i'll keep that in mind for next time. that is my problem. maybe i'll just invest in duct tape and make a dress form when i run out of patience. lol

Very cute! I always take paper and pencil whenever I go shopping b/c I see stuff that is inspiring and can easily be made all the time but its too expensive for how little time it would take to make. It would be so much easier if stores would let you take pictures in them!!!
Once I was in a hat store with my mom taking pictures in the funny hats and the lady starting freaking out, threatning to call security and confiscate my camera.
Off topic but does anyone know why you can't take pictures in stores?

i'm guessing because of patented items? but, if you think about it, clothing designs are in one way or another copied from something. idk. i'm wondering myself. i feel guilty when i sneak a pic of a shirt/skirt/dress with my phone cam. lol

I assume its to protect the patents too, but I was thinking about it more last night, and I realized that most stores have websites with pictures of the product on them. Maybe its a security issue? You can't take pictures in a lot of government buildings and places like that because of security, which I don't understand either.
Thats a good point you made about most deigns being copied from something. I feel guilty about sneaking pictures too, but I need the inspiration! I just remind myself that I'm not copying so its ok. All designers need inspiration:)
