Couple of surgeries I've had for a bit and a couple I did today. Plus two things from scratch. :)

1. Before: Cheap "I <3 NY" tee from NY, bits of a stretchy red tee.

After:

The pocket thing is one of the sleeves from the red tee. It looks kind of goofy and isn't really useful for anything at all, but I can put my hands (or rather, my fingers) in it at least, which I like.

2. Before: Black Mossimo tee, different red knit shirt, a length of black ribbon.

After:

If the boob area looks weird, it's because I wasn't wearing a bra (don't ask), so there's no lift going on. Yeah. And the corset lacing on the side is due to my inability to budget for my hips or whatever, so it was too small. I don't actually own grommit tape/hook and eye tape, so the ribbon's just poked through holes. Yes, I am aware it will not stay like that or hold up well. The red circle is double-stick-taped on because I'm lazy. Just go with it.

3. Before: Pair of too-small jeans and a pretty fugly skirt.

After:

Now it matches the white one I made before.

4. Before: Plain white sweatshirt with Habitat for Humanity logo on it that I got from doing a February Freeze several years ago. I didn't ever wear it as it was. Also, a bunch of scraps.

After:

This is my opus. It took SO LONG OH MY GOD. Basically, I laid it all out (which took a good long time), then ran stitching all over it, plaid style. It was ridiculous. Oh god. As of now, the back looks like that, and the front is plain white, which I don't really know how to fix/what to do with it. Suggestions?

From SCRATCH:

1.

They are... considerably shorter than I would like and all wrinkly in the front due to my inability to fit a proper closure, which draws more attention there than I'd like (I think anyway). I used a pair of pj shorts to attempt to draft a pattern, but they were elastic waisted, and I didn't really like that. Seeing as I am lacking zippers, is there a better way I can do front closures like that? I have an abundance of buttons, and that's pretty much it.

2. And this is my favorite thing EVAR:

Fabric from a pair of shorts I made but have not hemmed (which is why they're not on here--they still go to my knees) and a zipper that I THINK I got from a skirt I dismantled. I used a tut that I found somewhere on the intarwebs (from diy_tutorials), and followed it to the letter. It's a bit smaller that I'd like, but I found stuff to put in it, and it's in my purse. I hand sewed the zipper, which was not too fun, but I'm planning on making a bunch more. I think I can use t-shirt fabric and the like if I use interfacing also...

Let me know what you think! All are handsewn except for the shorts, and I used the machine to sew on the hood and also to hem it (which is why it's all lettuce-y. I haven't decided if I like that or not).
