i'm still swingin...
every day i thank my lucky stars for having a creative outlet. my uncle passed away a week ago and i've been using sewing as therapy. it's been helping me mounds. does anyone else ever feel that way? anyhow...
this has got to be one of my favorite sweaters of all time. i know i say that a lot, but i really mean it. i want to keep this soooo bad but i'm low on the cash flow. i made it from an ugly neon turtleneck. i just took it in and gave it the leopard trimmed scoop neck. by the way... raglan sleeved tops are the EASIEST in the world to re-size!! no cutting off the sleeves, reshaping armholes, bringing in shoulders... just.. pin and sew. i love it.
This was a big ole cardigan (about an XXL) that i made into a cute smaller cardigan. i fell in love with the colors... and the fact that it has bright blue telephones at the cuffs and hem.
this also was a humungo cardigan. the fabric is super soft.... like really thin sweatshirt fabric. mmmm. i turned it into this tunic-esque cardigan. another reason why i like the humungo sweaters... they're always nice and long!
this was a gigantor hoodie that i chopped and made smaller.
i made this one out of a cheshire cat t-shirt. i'm super giddy because i've been holding onto that striped fabric for years and never knew what to do with it until now.
and a similar one made out of a Gir t-shirt. i am totally in love with the silver fabric trim. it comes in a ton of colors and its so nice and stretchy and shiny.. oooh. but it's sooo expensive.
Not exactly a recon.. but kind of. i'm attempting to launch a new line of diy silk-screened “This is Not a Slave Made Shirt” t-shirts. this is from the first batch. we took the time-consuming method by doing the letters with drawing fluid instead of photo emulsion because i don't have a printer... but i think the letters turned out crisp enough. i also think i'm in love with silk screening.
As always... all is available for purchase
