It's soon Middle-earth Weekend!

http://www.middleearthweekend.org.uk/

A celebration of Professor Tolkien’s life in the Sarehole area that also about celebrating the local environment and the history of the area around Sarehole Mill and Moseley Bog.

The theme for 2011 will be around Tolkien and the trees of Middle-earth.

The Tolkien/Middle-earth weekend has been held every May since 2000 and averages around 10,000 visitors. Those who come are from the West Midlands, from the UK, and worldwide; for example in the last couple of years visitors have come from Poland, Germany, the USA, Canada and Australia.

Many of the events take place in Sarehole Mill Recreation Ground, behind Sarehole Mill and alongside the River Cole. Come and see the fantasy events, have a look at the medieval world. Or you can find out more about the green countryside and parks around, their history and their wildlife, on a guided walk. Come in costume if you like, and take part in the costume parade.
