The Good Times Roll

It's funny how quickly plans can change.

When I went to work this morning, I had no idea we we're going out tonight. This evening to be precise. A co-worker of Matt and Karen's invited us all out, she's about 26, to get some drinks and shoot some pool with her husband. Alright, good deal. We peaced out off work a little after 4 and went over to this bar a few miles from here. Kind of weird to be at a bar before 5, but I can dig it.

The co-worker brought her own cue, which was pretty cool, but she wasn't that great. Her husband showed up, also with his cue, and even though he talked his game down, a lot, it became apparent very quickly that he could play pool. You could also tell he was excited that someone else there could play too, and at least give him a run for his money. I ran 5 balls off the break the game I played him, so you could tell he was ready to turn it up notch. I was also able to successfully jump the cue twice, calling my shot, and nailing it. That'll get someone's attention quickly. We played several times, and even though he got the better of me most of the time, it was nice to shoot, I hadn't played pool in a long time.

Around 8 we went to Round Table Pizza. It was a lot nicer, and a lot more expensive, than I had imagined. They had a lot of gourmet pizzas. One interesting thing was you could pick your sauce for the pizza like you were picking a topping. That's a good idea, adds spice to the life of the pizza right off the bat.

Beer, pool, and pizza, seriously, how was that not good times?
