So, I was doing some googling and found this thread about sexist advertising here. And there are some posts here with legitimate gripes about sexism in advertising. Meanwhile, over on the right hand side of the page, there is a "Frisky Poll" asking the readers how slutty their Halloween costumes were this year. I like frisky... and randy.

Hmmm, maybe I'm lost. i didn't get how the ad was sexist? sexual... but not sexist. I think it's sexist to be upset that a lady might choose to take 7 men to her bed. If a male character was used in the same way... group sex connotation, would it have been offensive or sexist? Now thhe answer to that question might show the sexism. That was soemthing madonna used to holler about all the time in the '90's. "If I were man, this would not upset you."

Agreed on both parts. In todays environment, "slutty" can refer to both sexes.

I freely admit to being a Nymph o and I like for my sexual partners (*cough* the ones I don't have *cough*) to be slutty as well...

Actually, I didn't find that particular ad to be sexist, either. But to be fair, I believe the person who posted found it "more funny than offensive".

I definitely pick up a contradictory vibe with this website. They seem to want to be sex positive, but they haven't quite worked out what that means.

And to be clear, I found the costume poll to be sexist, not the Snow White ad. Which, honestly, I kind of liked. :-)

And the costume poll was only sexist because the only non-sexual choice on the list was no costume at all.

Ha! And by "no costume", they didn't mean "naked". :-P
