Best City in Canada???

Apr 23, 2006 22:02

So Leamington was recently declared the best city to live in, in Canada. These are cities with populations between 10 thousand and 50 thousand. As much as I was surprised, I have begun to see my small city of 15 thousand in a new way. Thus I have been inspired to write a top ten list of why all Outtatowners should be living here in Leamington. (in no particular order)
1. Yours Truly would be under a 5 minute drive away, even if you were on the opposite side of town
2. All 38 of us could take our cars (or parents cars) and cruise the dock. That's what all the "cool" people with their nice cars do. But of course we would do it in our minivans, and 4 door town cars, while playing incredibly "uncool" music. Perhaps we could use some polka, or mid century country.
3. Because gas prices are so high, we might instead grab our bikes and form a Outtatown Biking gang. Then we would think of some sort of catch slogan that would drive fear into the hearts of all who heard it.
4. Because all of the Mexican migrant workers get their groceries on Friday night and it is already incredibly busy, all of us would go to the Super store at that time and watch the faces of the workers as 38 of us walk in the doors.
5. Those of us who are passionate about certain sports could gather together and have some good natured Christian Rivalries. Unless of course the Maple leafs were playing the Canadiens. Then it might differ.
6. We would reminisce about all of the cool things that we did in SA that we would never have the chance to do in Leamington, (there is really not that much to do, Obviously those polled for selection were not teenagers).
7. We would get 3 minivans and pretend they were the 15 passenger vans. Then we would get them as dirty as possible, and then Pappy and the Van committee would have to clean them. Perhaps we would throw a team building excercise in there, though we don't get that much snow here, and it's hard to get lost in Leamington!!!
8. We would all be able to mope together about how our tans are fading, even you ebonies could join.
9. Anchor would still be held every Monday night but it would have to change (I'm sure everyone is aware of my feelings towards Anchor). Anchor would now stand for Astros, Nachos, Coke, Hershey's , Oreos, Reese's. I hope no one is on a diet.
10. And finally, we would have class reunions every week, And I wouldn't have to miss all of you like I do know.

I hope you all know how much you have meant to me, and I really do wish you could all be here in Leamington with me. I love you all!!!
