"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us most. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and famous? Actually, who are you not to be? ...Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people wont feel insecure around you. Its not just in some of us; its in all of us. And when we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
-Nelson Mandela
wow. so im not even in like a really philosophical or deep thinking mood, but I couldn't help but really fall in love with this quote. I feel like it completely expresses the way that I want to live my life and the way I want my presence to be felt by others. What an amazing way to approach living. I have always hated the out look that it doesnt matter what we do because we are only one small piece of the universe. It's true that we are nothing, just a tiny dot in time. But while we are here, we have a purpose. We affect people here and now, and even after us, not indirectly but directly. Take hold of your life and inspire people with whatever it is that you do.
