I’ve always told myself to flip the switch after walking out the door
“They don’t pay you enough to think about this shit when you’re not at work”
And most days I shake it off - knowing I’m emotionally better for it
But not today...
Talking in circles
Out both sides of your mouth
Contradicting yourself
Repeating
Rehashing
Regurgitating
Trying to make your point without offending me
Offending me anyway
Then kissing my ass...
Passing the blame
Looking out for yourself at the risk of trampling those who make you look good
Not capitalizing on your ‘power’
Trying to get ahead by being a pretty face in a skirt
Demeaning the standards we’ve worked hard to establish
Exploiting our skills, tenacity, persistence
Wasting time
Distracting
Confusing
Talking, talking, talking
To hear the sound of your voice
Or to trump whoever is talking when you decide we should all listen
You talk about credibility but have none of your own
