I just got back from my mini trip to L.A! What a poopy drive. Somehow I've picked up the habit of getting horribly carsick unless I'm driving or sleeping, and I can't sleep in a crowded van

I could see myself living there too. Everything you need was within walking distance....clothes shops, nice restaurants, bookstore, grocery store, and even a chic little movie theater. The trip bumped up USC in my list of choice grad schools to attend.
