I'll take my men on rocks
Okay, if anyone was up and on twitter at any time during the PA showing of the men’s figure skating, I am so sorry for my excessive torrent of STUPID tweets. But, please forgive me, I am going to do the same on LJ.
Well, I’m back home for the weekend to pick up some stuff and my little sister has been following the Olympics more closely than me, so she sat me down to watch the men’s figure skating portion. And honestly, how could I say no to men flying gracefully over ice in very sparkly tight nylon costumes?
Her commentary was just as entertaining as the performances. She has the biggest crushes on Lysacek/Plushenko and it’s no surprise to me that she ships them too. :| (And Plushenko’s long program? HOT DAMN. THOSE HIP THURSTS. HAIR SWISHES. OUTSTRETCHED HANDS.) And, yeah, the actual skating was very lovely as well.
I’m sure there will be lots of talk about Lysacek and Plushenko. God knows that I get enough of it from my sister. Perhaps in a last ditch attempt to rope me in her madness, she tries to involve my fandoms.
Tas: I cannot unsee Evan Lysacek as Spy. Ice skating. He is totally Spy.
Me: .......no you just did not.
And then Florent Amodio came on and I fell in love with him. He’s still pretty young, and has lots of time to grow, I think, but I adored his choreography and music. Plus, I am a sucker for orphan stories. So, like any other girl under the influence of Instant Shallow Crush, I wiki’d and youtube’d Amodio and… well… lol.
If I wasn’t buying Spy On Ice, then Amodio was out to prove me wrong since two years ago. (At around 1:03, it looks like he's doing the Thriller Taunt, ahaha.) And for those who aren’t familiar with Team Fortress 2, the clip shows Amodio, a French ice skater, in a ski mask, dancing to Sexy Back. I cannot begin to explain how amused I am.
