I MUST CONFESS, I AM BEGINNING TO GET EXCITED.

I haven't been involved in the fandom at all, just sort of recently
pjo_fic_battle . I've seen the main comm, and it is lovely and appears to be wank free, but I guess that's only because they don't allow any of my ships, which, to be honest, aren't very kid-friendly though incest seems to be a given factor for most of the pairings. (Please allow me a moment to pimp this out explain.)
Percy Jackson and the Olympians is a wonderful series, about a boy who finds out he's the son of a Greek God, and, like most demigods, he needs to go to a special summer camp called Camp Half-Blood. Teenage hijinks ensue where Percy (our main demigod) meets daughter of Athena, Annabeth Chase, and a satyr named Grover; they become a nice trio of heroes. There's also Luke, son of Hermes (squee), Nico and Bianca Di Angelo, and your favorite Greek myths, Gods, and Goddesses--and if you don't have one, you will certainly find one in here (GO APOLLO GO).
So, yeah. I've been reading up on the
movie's cast, and I'm really impressed with the line-up. This might be because I avoided looking up the movie until now, so I'm feeling pretty good about it. I heard that a lot of other fans weren't as happy, but I see nothing to complain about, with the possible exception of Brandon T. Jackson, who is supposed to play Grover, and I always imagined Grover to be pale with reddish hair. But it's Brandon-T-FUCKING-JACKSON* as Grover, and the world could not be more right because I have this huge crush on this guy. So, I don't know, Grover might accidently be my favorite character just because of him. Shallow Tanya is shallow. :(
*Brandon played Alpa Chino in Tropic Thunder, just so you know my totally obvious biased for him.
Also, for people who are hating on Logan Lerman as Percy Jackson, STOP BEING MEANIES. >:( THIS BOY IS ADORABLE, JUST LIKE PERCY. J-just because he looks a little too old... (and the actress for Annabeth is actually older than me, wow. And Brandon is 25, so okay. Older casts, so whaaaaaat?).
eta: Oh, pimping fail--the books are by Rick Riordan. There are 5 book in total, plus an extra "demigod file" which has a few short stories that aren't part of the main storyline.
Unrelated, but as equally geeky, I've started reading the Young Avengers' main series. I kind of miss the art of Runaways (among other things) but damn, is Billy fiiiine. (Yes. everyone likes Billy, I guess I'm no exception. :D )
Also, that Temeraire-verse Star Trek crossover that me and
pellucere have been writing?
IT NOW HAS AN INDEX. *fails happily*
