In which I talk about random things.
Hello livejournal! First of all, thanks to everyone who congratulated me on my birthday, sent me v-gifts, or was aware that it was my birthday and thought about maybe dropping a line but ended up not getting around to it. (That's not me quipping, that's me being absolutely sincere. I'm always in the latter category, when it comes to remembering birthdays.)
I'm 24! . . . feels a lot like being 23. I spent the day with the family, hanging out and having cake and relaxing. It was very enjoyable. And I got presents, which was nice.
I've also started a job. It's the same job as last year--extremely boring, mindless production line work that pays well. I'll be doing this eight hours a day five days a week for the next six weeks, and will then hopefully end up with enough money to cover things like:
- the rings
- taking Jasper to places like Cardiff and London and Stonehenge when she's coming over in August
- paying my parents back for my US flight in March and my recent flight back to Germany
- buying a flight ticket to Washington for the Christmas break
God, all my money goes into flight tickets. It's ridiculous. On Christmas, I probably won't be able to simply go with a London/Washington flight, because my parents will make sad puppy dog eyes at me if they don't get to see me during my winter break. So that'll have to be a London/Washington/Munich flight, which is at least 100 quid more expensive than the simple return flight. Sigh.
There's not much else that's new. Germany's playing against Ghana tonight--soccer--and if they lose, the world cup will be over for them. That would make me a bit sad, but it would also amuse me. Because I'm a bad person. I want some complete outsider to win the cup. Like, say, Uruguay. That would be awesome.
So, how is everyone?
