The flatmate's boyfriend woke up sick on Monday. The doctor told him he might have swine flu. Now the flatmate's sick, and as of a couple of days ago, I'm sniffling and feeling kind of deflated. Damn you, flatmate's boyfriend

Hope it's not the swine flu! Although I guess it's still a fairly mild flu to get, as far as flus go.
That all sounds really interesting! Although that's a lot of footage to shoot and edit and all that until Christmas. Any idea what you're going to make that long documentary about?
Idk if it's the swine flu. Or any flu at all. It's not really doing anything, except making me tired and giving me a headache. B| Make up your minds, germs--get to work, or get out.
Noo, no idea yet. We only got told that we have to do it on Friday, and we have to do the short documentary first. But I'm sure I'm gonna be complaining blogging about making those films, so you'll be kept updated. ;)
And that doesn't sound like a bad schedule. I particularly like the fact that your documentary prof said "Hell, they can't be objective, don't even pretend." Any created work loses objectivity, that's just the way it goes :\
Brighton is pretty! When/If you come over to SO at some point, we need to go see it.
Any created work loses objectivity Not just any created work. Even news reports aren't entirely objective--you're still choosing which information you want to give to your audience, and which information you're excluding. And even things you've experienced yourself, you've experienced from your subjective point of view. Objectivity, it's a myth.
Yes, we do. Woo, seaside resort gay culture center UK places~
Yeah, which is why finding information in the sea of opinions is so frustrating. The only real way to learn something is to do it yourself, and then see what you think, as opposed to what everyone else thinks.
Which you can't do with everything, though. So sometimes, you just need to go on the subjective reports you're getting and form an assumptive opinion. Which is fine, I think, as long as you keep in mind the assumptive part, and make sure you're open to the idea of modifying your opinion, should you manage to get your hands on more reliable, possibly contradictory information.

I'd love to see your films when they're done. Is there any chance of that?
