Dr Who fanfic

Today, I wrote more than 2000 words of Dr. Who fic.

You know, usually I'm proud when I get a daily average of 500 words. I don't want to promise anything, either (I don't even know how many of you would even only be remotely interested in Ten/Donna fic, lol), because I suck so much at finishing stories. But writing Dr. Who makes me happy. As in, giddy-joyful-bouncy-happy. I'm posting a couple of excerpts of what I wrote today not to show how *cough* brilliant *doublecoughyeahright* it is, but to show how much FUN this can be :D.

Donna looked around. The place looked exactly the same it had when she'd last been in here. If the Doctor actually lived in here, Donna wondered where he kept all his stuff. There wasn't a single personal item to be seen, anywhere. But then, maybe on Mars you didn't have personal items. Maybe on Mars, everybody lived in a place that was bigger on the inside and looked like some future version of St. Paul's Cathedral.

All of a sudden, the noise started again - that whooping, wooshing noise that she really should have recognized before, no lawn mower made that sort of a sound, ever - and the rods in the big glass tube above the control console started moving and flashing. Donna screamed, and then all she could do was hold on for dear life because the whole place started shaking like mad as if it were going to be falling apart any second.

"Doctor!" she yelled. "Oi! DOCTOR! You forgot to pull the handbrake!"

"So this isn't London?"

"No, mate, s'not London," the newspaper guy said and showed an impressive number of teeth as he grinned. "Last time I checked, this was still Woking. S'not that far though. Depends on which part o' London yer going."

The Doctor frowned in confusion and slipped his hands into his pockets. "And this is not some new version of the 15th century, by any chance?"

It was extremely improbable, but not impossible, that a TARDIS drifted off to another spacetime period. Not impossible meaning that back in the old days, a Timelord scientist - the Hermit, he'd called himself, and if that wasn't the name of a dusty theorist, the Doctor didn't know what was - had used a derivation of Fuq-Ruq's Third Manifestation of the Stellar Chart Law to prove that if the Lepot stream happened to be flowing in direct proportion to Kez' particle current, a TARDIS might be capable of traveling by herself without the input of a Timelord.

Up until now, the Doctor had been convinced that this was, frankly, complete bullshit.

I don't think I ever had so much actual fun writing something. I mean, I've always enjoyed writing, of course, but it was always work for me. Good work, satisfactory work, but work all the same. This... this is more like html/css coding. It might take you a while to figure out what the best way is to write it, but you know there is a way, and finding it is half of the fun.

If that makes sense.

Anyway, I hope this will last! :D
