I saw bits of Inuyasha on Cartoon Channel back when it used to air at a decent hour and thought it was, well, cute. And I'm enjoying the manga. But it's a never ending manga - over 500 issues and still going strong! The anime stopped after 167 and the movies are fun but not related, arc-wise. I enjoy the characters, the wimmin are tough as well as gorgeous, and the teenaged heroine feeds her boy Inuyasha dog food as a treat!!! I'm also fascinated by a certain refusal to compromise: Inuyasha, first met, scares the crap out of the heroine (being pinned to a tree for 500 years didn't help his temper). He calmed down and is now very much the boyfriend, but the dear halfbreed (youkai) is rude, noisy, brash: the jock carrying a sword! Also incredibly protective, fierce, brave, blahblah. And then there's his older brother, who makes females of all ages go MMMMM MMMM and ignore that the Perfect Demon Lord is downright coldblooded and gets his truly terrible power from that ice, his willingness to kill ANYONE in his way, and his fights with his brother are quite ugly. He's finally showing some heart, courtesy of a little human girl he sort of accidently healed, but it took over 500 issues! Still hot though... and the evil spider demon villain ain't bad either, and has helped hatch (sorry) some fun fanfic involving the evil one getting the gorgeous Inuyasha in his clutches and Sesso-hunk having to rescue and comfort the abused one...
