Birthday in Mali

Yesterday was my twentieth bithdya! Woo hoo! Birthdays celebrated in other countries are just awesome... kinda. Acxtually it was pretty good. My parents called and I got to talk to them for the first time since I got here, which was exactly what I needed. Plus, I was sung happy birthday in three different languages, tee hee. Got a lovely ecard from Karri today- I love you lots babe, and thank you so much, you made my day! Otherwise, birthday fairly uneventful, really did very little yesterday. I did buy some very pretty fabric at the market in Koulikoro, where I was for the weekend. I might get it made into a dress, which would be, as Nora likes to say, hott!

Otherwise, things are just kind of moving along at this point - I'm getting into the whole class schedule and such, as well as getting more comfortable with my host family. It looks like I'm going to be spending a lot of time in classes of one kind or another, which is both good and bad. Most of my classes look pretty easy, which is nice. The only homework I've gotten so far is in my composition and conversation class, which isn't actaully a class I'm registered for, I don't think. Oh well.
