Georgia just nominated its first black and first woman ever for US Senate. Her name is Denise Majette, and she won on a shoestring budget against a big spender because of her grassroots organizing. The Republican she's up against is much more well known (and also has lots more money). Her response when asked about the long odds of her actually being elected: "They called me a long shot before; now they call me congresswoman." Does this woman not rock?
