Good to know I can count on my state to cheer me up. It's impossible not to smile when looking at photos of same-sex marriages that took place in march. Multnomah county is still holding out and offering licenses. Benton county isn't offering any marriage licenses at all. That works too.
What bugs me, though, is that in the media's discussion of Benton county's decision, almost everyone commented that residents of Benton county can just go to a neighboring county to get a marriage license. They mean heterosexual couples can get licenses in neighboring counties. There are some residents of Benton county who still can't get marriage licenses.
