Starting all over again

After months of wishing I could get out of this shitty company, I have finally tendered my resignation on Wednesday. As much as I hated the experience, I do not regret being so passive about making a change. As much as I hate working there, I did draw a decent salary that was generally higher than my peers and I also gained much exposure in terms of job scope.

Fortunately for me, I did not have to look for a way out. A month ago, HC contacted me out of the blue to ask if I would like to fill a position under her. It was the second time she tried to get me into the company, after the failed attempt one year back. This time round, after some arm twisting and a lot of luck, I finally got the job.

I am very grateful for the effort that she had put in to recruit me. It was no easy task, as any new hires at this point in time was practically impossible. Anthony even had to go to the CEO and Human Resource to ensure I am brought in successfully. I am just glad that my previous work there as an intern was well appreciated.

Sadly, I will still need to serve out my one-month notice before I can move on. The Fat Bastard cried when he found out that I was leaving. He knows just as much as I do that my departure is going to cause major issues for the company. To me, it means nothing. I despise him as a person and I hate him as a boss. Leaving is made even easier by the fact that I stand to receive better pay and benefits in my new company.

The next 4 weeks will be hell. He is being a total prick about it now. First he threatens me, saying that it is illegal for another company to come poach me. What utter rubbish. It is not even a related industry that I am going into, plus there is no claus in my employment contract that forbids me to move on to any other company. Now he puts me under surveillence because he thinks I am out to steal his useless client database. My keys to the office has been confiscated, the passwords to my email and database access has been changed and he gets my colleagues to watch my every move. Fine by me. I don't need this company. Be nasty to me, and be certain that I will be nasty back to you.

At the end of the day, I am moving on to something way better and there is no way that he can touch me. Piss me off enough and he can be sure that I will crush him when the day comes.
