Pao Lin walks in as Kotetsu's doodling and Barnaby is typing busily away at the computer. They both greet her boredly, Kotetsu brightening to ask, "What's up, kid?" and sobering up poutily when she explains she's just here to work out a contracted deal where they'll be making a shared appearance with their sponsors.
"I'm sure they'll include you in the pictures this time, old man," Barnaby sighs, rolling his eyes and scowling.
Kotetsu straightens as if he's been pinched, even though he's clearly nowhere near anyone, and his whole body goes into a defensive posture as he snaps and snarls like a rabid dog. "Like I even wanted to be in your stupid pictures!"
She thinks, they're just like children and then thinks how all her shouting matches ended back home, when she was young enough to have retorts as flimsy as Kotetsu's. Generally, they ended in the dirt, beat up, and laughing with a new friend.
So she grins at Kotetsu before she leaves the room, saying, "I'm sure it'll all work out fine, Mr. Tiger, Mr. Brooks. Later!"

Ivan is standing outside Kotetsu's apartment, with a small tin of cat-shaped candies and a thank-you card, and when he knocks the door swings in.
"Eh--?"
Startled, he looks around quickly before stepping inside, heart beginning to pound. What if Mr. Kaburagi has been hurt? Hurt again, that is-- what if-- what if that frightening Lunatic person has found him in his home and is--?
He sets the candy tin down by the door, rushing out into the room. It's a bit messy, but there's only so many rooms to check. He's about to look in the kitchen when he hears a thump from upstairs and dashes, quicker than he can think, up them and through the open door of the bedroom, shouting in worry "Mr. Kaburagi-sa--!"
The tableau on which he has intruded is a curious one. Kotetsu blinks at Ivan's stunned expression and starts laughing-- which hurts, so he winces, then laughs again softly, wriggling away from Barnaby's persistent mothering.
"Hello, Ivan. Really, Bunny they're fine. I'll change my bandages by myself when they actually need to be changed."
Barnaby grits his teeth, stubborn as ever. "But you're too hurt to change them on your own!"
Kotetsu rolls his eyes. "Seriously! What's up, Ivan?" He lightly kicks Barnaby off of him, from where they've clearly fallen into a mess of dubiously clean clothing that Kotetsu evidently never wears unless he has to.
"Uh-- well, I was coming by to thank you for, you know, your help earlier." He swallows the rest of what he's thinking of saying. But, oh dear. Nathan was right.

Karina's eyes go wide as Kotetsu claps a hand to Barnaby's shoulder, smiling at him in encouragement. She can't quite hear what he says to his partner from here, but the tone definitely says I have faith in you. You can do it.
Barnaby not only doesn't shrug that hand off of his shoulder, he gives Kotetsu a wan smile, some of that incredible tension easing off. She can see every motion of every muscle in those bodysuits they wear, everything.
And now she can't help wondering if they're--
They couldn't really be-- right?
Then the call comes from Agnes, and she hasn't got time to think about that.

"Yeah, and you should just forget about your m-machiavelli-- wait, your machi-"
"Machinations."
"Yeah, those!" The man known to the world as 'Wild Tiger' crosses his arms over his chest, trying to look as surly as a man who is apparently terrible with words can look. The quiet man behind him looks patiently supportive.
Yuri hides a smile. He hasn't misjudged Wild Tiger's nobility. Interesting. And--
Well, how close they stand is interesting too.

Keith Goodman is having a fantastic day. The birds are singing. The world has been set to right. All those nasty villains have been stopped and Stern Bild is doing great. He's at a charity event! With puppies and children and happy old ladies! And cake! Oh, he loves cake the very most!
Also, all the other Heroes are here! He smiles benevolently about, even though no one can see him smile with his helmet on. Barnaby, unmasked, turns to Kotetsu and pushes back Kotetsu's mask, grabbing him by the shoulders and dragging him down for a deep, sloppy kiss. There are many screams of excitement and adoration from the citizens, and Keith nods in approval.
"Oh my," Nathan croons over their comms. "Couldn't take it anymore, Handsome?"
Kotetsu's muffled exclamations of shock are overwhelmed by some other kind of exclamation and there are mingled complaints of 'come on, you guys' and 'h-hey are you really--?' from the others. As usual, they're looking down on Keith and Barnaby's exceptional teamwork, and that makes Keith wistful.
He decides (as usual) to speak up in their favor. "I think it's wonderful to show such support among friends! We should all kiss, and kiss again! To show our true devotion to our close friends!"
Silence meets him, and then Nathan's voice asks, in a strained tone, "W-what do you think they're doing, honey? That's not something you just do with friends."
Keith doesn't understand, and says so. "It isn't?"
