A GREAT weekend

We stayed at the campground the whole weekend -it rained most of the day Saturday, so we napped and read books mostly. I finished ROCKET BOYS - a great read if anyone is interested.

Sunday we went to a place called Pymatuning Deer Park - a small private zoo actually - near Johnstown PA. We saw lots of animals and fed most of them. You can get a LOT closer to them than at public zoos.

We also went to a craft show and bought the coolest things ever - mini-marshmallow guns. They are made of PVC pipe - you put a mini-marshmallow in and blow it about 50 feet. We bought 4 and gave them to my brother Joe's kids on Monday.

My brother John and his girlfriend Sandra (from Portugal) came by Sunday night for dinner and stayed for a while talking by the campfire - it was nice to be with them for a while. They are off to Isle Royale in Lake Superior for a week of backpacking beginning Thursday.

Monday, we went to my other brother's house - Joe - for a Labor day picnic. He has a new in-ground pool so we spent lots of time in it. The kids had a BLAST with the marshmallow guns - there will be FAT raccoons in Lodi when they eat all of the marshmallows that are now in the lawn. Joe made a 'cornhole' game so that was played all afternoon. Had a WONDERFUL drink made from sugar, limes and some Brazilian liquor distilled from sugar cane. Reminiscent of margaritas - yummy!!!

We got to see Terri and Alexa and we missed Nikki a lot! She SAID she had homework to do - I remember using that line myself a few times!!! Hopefully we'll see her for the Christmas Concert again this year.

I got stung by a yellowjacket on my forearm - swellded up like a mofo! My right arm resembles Popeye now!!!

But, now back to reality. Gotta work all week and look for a new job. I have a few interesting leads and have applied for several interesting jobs on-line. This week I need to red listed with a couple of headhunters.

Still working on my next topic for discussion - I'll know shortly what it is.
