Bah Humbug!!!
I thought Easter was supposed to be a celebration of resurrection and re-birth in the Christian circles and fertility in the pagan ones. We had over a foot of snow and temperatures in the twenties! Nothing fertile or re-birthing or spring-like about it.
The poor robins are so confused - they are supposed to be fattening up on worms so they can feed their babies, but they can't get to the grass to get the worms. So every driveway around here has half a dozen robins, almost too full of eggs to fly, wandering in circles waiting for the snow to melt! It is pitiful - sounds like a song theme for Tori Amos or some other angsty singer.
My dad and our son Steve were the only invitees who made it so we have LOTS of food left over - more than I can eat. I'm going to make some nice bean with ham soup with the ham bone and some of the leftover ham.
Susan and I are REALLY looking forward to this weekend - we're going to open our trailer for the summer! We've not been able to use it since 10/15 and we really miss it. I'll be re-greasing the wheel bearings so we can take a road trip sometime in May to see our favoritest girls.
Oh well, I gotta get to work - I have a conference call in a few minutes.
